Gorilla Mind Rush Review | The Key to Laser Focus?

Gorilla Mind Rush is my favorite supplement to improve focus.

If you follow me on social media, subscribe to my email list or have read my book, you know I’m a major proponent of Lifestyle Entrepreneurship.

The central idea behind Lifestyle Entrepreneurship is to create a business(es) with massive leverage that helps you make as much money in as little time possible so you can still enjoy life (family, friends, hobbies, etc).

But to achieve that goal, you need to have laser focus during work hours.

My Personal Struggle With Focus
I’ve probably read a dozen or so books on productivity over the years.

I’ve also experimented with various time management and productivity methods, like Getting Things Done and the Pomodoro technique.

I’ve come to realize that the keys to focus are pretty straightforward:

  • Start with a clear Vision
  • Identify one major goal in each area of your life
  • Dedicate your energy to ONE high-value activity at a time
  • Work in a distraction-free environment
  • Listen to sounds or music that helps you “get in the zone”
  • Stay off social media and your phone

I’m sure you’ve heard variations of these tips before.

Unfortunately, it took me a long time (years) to apply this advice consistently.

From having 15 different browser tabs open at the same time to checking my phone incessantly, I’ve done all the things known to kill productivity.

I’ve finally eliminated those bad habits to follow a consistent production schedule, which generally goes like this:

One Hour Work Block
Rest 15 minutes

One Hour Work Block
Rest 15 minutes

One Hour Work Block
Rest 15 minutes

One Hour Work Block (optional)
Rest 15 minutes

That means I’m able to get 3-4 hours of productive work done in one day (which is way more than most people, even if they claim to work 10-12 hour days).

The Turning Point
What we choose to focus on and what we choose to ignore— plays in defining the quality of our life.”
― Cal Newport, Deep Work: Rules for Focused Success in a Distracted World

Of course, like most entrepreneurs I’m always looking for an edge and I’m obsessive about improving my focus so I can get better results in my business and my life.

When I’m “on” I want to be completely focused.

A few months ago I watched this video by Sam Ovens, "How to Gain Laser Focus In A World of Distraction."

This video was a game changer for me because it helped me realize that most of us are trying way too hard to force ourselves to focus in distracting environments (like busy coffee shops), when a much smarter approach is to eliminate as many distractions as possible.

This is super important because it'll set the stage for you to get the most out of Gorilla Mind Rush, a popular nootropic (that we'll discuss in a moment) that I'm using to improve my focus and much more.

What Are Nootropics?
Nootropics are basically any chemical substance that can improve brain function WITHOUT negatively affecting it.

They can significantly improve your cognitive function, increase your motivation and energy, improve your memory and concentration, and even improve your overall intelligence (yes - really).

Popular nootropics include modafinil, adrafinil, L-theanine, caffeine and piracetam.

The Problem With Most Nootropics
Unfortunately, most nootropics are garbage because they flat out don’t work, have crappy ingredients or the dosages are too low to create any significant effect.

So when I found out Mike Cernovich started his own supplement line of nootropics (aka cognitive enhancers), I was immediately curious.

What Gorilla Mind Rush Feels Like
From the Gorilla Mind website:

User experience will vary and is dose-dependent, but this is what you can expect if you take Gorilla Mind Rush in the morning, on an empty stomach:

Within 15 minutes - You will notice that your state is starting to change, it may be subtle at first.

Within 30 minutes - You will notice that you are more focused, your thinking will be noticeably more clear, your energy levels will be slightly higher. Your motivation to be productive will increase.

At 1 hour - You will undoubtedly notice that you are far more focused and can better concentrate despite any distractions. Productivity will begin to exceed your baseline. Your energy levels will be up, but stabilize at 1 hour. You may notice a decrease in stress, anxiety coupled with a much higher attention span if multitasking. Appetite suppression will be noticeable as well.

After 90 minutes - Your focus, concentration, memory recall and retention will be far beyond your normal state. This state will fully last for another 5 or 6 hours. If this improvement in alertness isn't 100% obvious, consider taking an additional 1 to 3 capsules (maximum dose per 24-hours is 6 capsules). Significant appetite suppression will be obvious after 90 minutes as well.

After 6 hours - The effects of 3 capsules of Gorilla Mind Rush will very slowly wear off. You will feel absolutely no crash or coming down, unless you have consumed additional caffeine (or similar stimulants).

After 10-12 hours - You will return to your baseline state in cognitive ability and appetite. However, you probably WILL NOT feel physically or mentally fatigued. Gorilla Mind Rush lasts for 8-10 hours and has an extreme 'anti-fatigue' effect. This is why it is important to NOT take Gorilla Mind Rush close to bedtime or in the late afternoon unless you plan to be awake for the following 10 hours.

Gorilla Mind Rush Benefits
The biggest questions, of course, are “Does Gorilla Mind Rush work?” and “How will Gorilla Mind Rush work for ME?”

Does Gorilla Mind Rush work?
For me, the answer is YES. I can definitely feel it within 15-30 minutes.

How does Gorilla Mind Rush work for me?
These are the key benefits I’ve experienced.

  • Increase motivation to ignore distractions and be productive
  • More energy while working out / lifting weights
  • Improved focus for longer periods of time
  • Increased productivity in my business
  • Feel less hungry (excellent for fasting)
  • Overall sense of well-being
  • Shorter work days

Additional benefits and uses:

  • As a pre-workout
  • As a study aid
  • For content creation

One of the most incredible benefits of Gorilla Mind Rush is my ability to “tune out” or bounce back from distractions and make transitions more seamlessly.

The easiest, fastest and most effective way to help High Performers increase energy is to teach them to master transitions.”
-Brendon Burchard, High Performance Habits

We experience transitions every day - it’s when we switch activities:

  • Checking social media to writing an email for my subscribers
  • Going from work to the gym
  • Getting off the phone to reading

I’m not talking about multi-tasking. I’m talking about moving from one activity to another.

What usually happens is it takes time to mentally adjust from one task to another. With Gorilla Mind Rush I’ve found these transitions to happen faster and more easily.

Sample Day of Gorilla Mind Rush
I wake up most mornings between 7am - 7:30am.

I’ll drink my black coffee, 500mg Metformin and 3 Gorilla Mind Rush.

Then I’ll go for a 20+ minute walk.

By the time I get home, the Gorilla Mind Rush has kicked in and I’m ready to rock.

I’ll review my calendar, my finances and my Morning Formula.

Then I’ll write in my journal and look at my To Do list (and make any changes if necessary).

By this point it’s around 9am.

I’ll read for an hour (or review my book notes).

Around 10am I’ll have my first meal of the day which is usually a scoop of True Nutrition protein powder mixed in water (use my discount code BBLLC to save 5% off True Nutrition products).

Then I’ll work on my niche sites for an hour.

Then I’ll focus on client work, content creation or my freelance business.

By 2:30pm my work day is usually done and I’ll head to the gym around 4pm.

On a typical day, this work schedule may include:

  • Writing a Facebook post (to attract clients)
  • Lots of tweets (to build my email list)
  • Reviewing and approving niche site articles by my Virtual Assistants
  • Having my tech VA troubleshoot or help me with implementation
  • Emailing my subscribers
  • Planning, writing or editing marketing campaigns for clients

Gorilla Mind Rush really helps me get “in the zone” so I can move from one task to the next.

Does Gorilla Mind Rush Have Side Effects?
The big complaints about other products are that they give you jitters, mid-day crash or “hangovers” where you feel lethargic the next day.

I haven’t experienced any of those side effects with Gorilla Mind Rush.

Is it possible to get addicted to Gorilla Mind Rush?
I don’t think so.

I’ve never experienced any kind of addiction with ANY substance and I don’t think Gorilla Mind Rush is strong enough to create that kind of craving.

I’ve been rotating between Gorilla Mind Rush in the morning and Gorilla Mind Smooth in the afternoon, but I only take them 2-3 times a week.

Does Gorilla Mind Rush keep you up all night?
This is another side effect of popular nootropics like caffeine and Modafinil.

They get you wired, so you need to take them early in the day or you can’t sleep.

I personally haven’t had any issues with sleep, though. If I take Gorilla Mind Rush (more potent than Smooth), I take it in the morning as soon as I wake up.

Gorilla Mind Rush Ingredients

You’re probably wondering what’s IN Gorilla Mind Rush.

Here’s a list of ingredients that are listed on the bottles (and the website) along with descriptions:

Each individual ingredient is dosed in efficacious amounts, is backed by science, and most importantly was handpicked by us personally because we have years of trial and error under our belts of extensive cognitive enhancer use, and we know specifically which ingredients work synergistically with each other to provide maximum benefit to the user.

DMAE (Dimethylaminoethanol): Increases information transmission, processing abilities; enhances memory, mood, and mental concentration

N-Acetyl L-Tyrosine: Increases motivation, concentration, energy, and mental focus; relieves stress and anxiety

L-Theanine: Relaxes brain; decreases stress; eradicates anxiety

Alpha-GPC: Boosts information recollection/absorption, focus, concentration, HGH levels, cognitive functions, memory levels, and physical performance

Caffeine Anhydrous: Heightens logical reasoning, mood, physical strength, focus, recovery times, concentration, and energy levels

Di-Caffeine Malate: Halts feelings of overstimulation

Bacopa Monnieri: Shields brain neurons from damage; produces mild euphoria; reduces anxiety, joint/muscle pain; increases memory, mood, mental energy, information recollection/absorption

N-phenethyl Dimethylamine Citrate/Eria Jarensis Extract: Preserves energy; increases fat-burning capabilities, awareness, motivation, concentration, energy, mental abilities, and focus

2-Aminoisoheptane: (See N-phenethyl Dimethylamine Citrate/Eria Jarensis Extract)

Higenamine: Boosts concentration, focus, energy levels, and fat loss

BioPerine (Black Pepper Extract): Preserves longevity of the aforementioned effects and individual absorption of the aforementioned ingredients

Huperzine A: Halts brain damage; increases cognitive functions and memory; helps body composition; combats aging

Gorilla Mind Rush vs. Modafinil
I’ve tried Modafinil a couple times (100mg with black coffee).

And it works.

My main issue with Modafinil is it gives me some jitters and I don’t like that feeling. The jitters also tend to distract me, which defeats the purpose of taking a nootropic in the first place.

As far as other people, I know many struggle to fall asleep on Modafinil, especially if they take it too late in the day, but that hasn’t been a problem for me.

That said, some people love Modafinil

I'd start out on 50mg-100mg with an early breakfast to get a sense of tolerance before trying a higher dosage.

In short: I prefer Gorilla Mind Rush over Modafinil because it helps me focus without that jittery, anxious feeling.

Gorilla Mind Rush vs. Gorilla Mind Smooth
What if you want to take an effective nootropic in the afternoon or are sensitive to stimulants?

That’s where Gorilla Mind Smooth comes in.

Gorilla Mind Smooth also works for me and I’ve noticed that it has a more subtle effect than Rush.

In short: I prefer Gorilla Mind Rush, but Smooth is a solid alternative for later in the day.

You can get a Gorilla Mind Rush and Smooth bundle on the website for a good deal if you want to try both.

Gorilla Mind Rush vs. Adderall
I’ve never tried Adderall, so I can’t offer an opinion from personal experience.

Gorilla Mind Rush vs. Adrafinil
The last time I took Adrafinil was December 2018.

I would describe Adrafinil as a slightly weaker form of Modafinil that also works.

In short: I prefer Gorilla Mind Rush over Adrafinil for the same reason I prefer Gorilla Mind Rush over Modafinil - less of that jittery feeling.

What’s Missing? What Can Be Better?
I love Gorilla Mind Rush because it does what it claims to do without the side effects of popular alternatives.

I wouldn’t change anything.

Final Thoughts
Being specific about what you want and how you will achieve it helps you say no to things that derail progress, distract your attention, and pull you off course.”
― James Clear, Atomic Habits: An Easy & Proven Way to Build Good Habits & Break Bad Ones

Gorilla Mind Rush is a fantastic supplement and one of the only supplements I use regularly.

One thing I didn’t mention was price. One bottle is typically sold for $29.99. For 30 servings (3 pills are the suggested serving size), that’s a great deal since other nootropics can cost a lot more money.
