7 Things
A few things you probably wouldn’t know unless I told you:
- I’m a 1st degree Black Belt in Jiu-Jitsu and a certified instructor. I’ve studied martial arts since 1996. I was a student at the Theodorou Academy of Jiu Jitsu while I lived in Boston. Martial arts has had the greatest impact on who I am today.
- I think magic is pretty cool. If I see David Blaine changing coffee into money or Criss Angel sawing a woman in half, I immediately drop everything and stop what I’m doing. I love movies like “The Illusionist” and “The Prestige.” I think what’s attractive is the idea of illusions as puzzles.
- My background is Colombian and Italian. Growing up in a multicultural home has given me a unique perspective on things. I’m especially interested in Hispanic and Japanese cultures, and I started learning Japanese in 2010.
- I’m always trying something new. You’ve got to continue learning as you get older, especially if you want to be competitive in today’s job market.
- I’ve had a growing interest in photography over the past few years. Here’s my Flickr Photostream.
- My favorite writers/bloggers are Bill Simmons, Malcolm Gladwell, P.J. O’Rourke, Seth Godin and Umair Haque.
- I read — a lot. My favorite books are: 1) Never Eat Alone 2) First, Break All The Rules and 3) Getting Things Done. Of course, if you don’t read you can end up like this. Check out:
